Prayers in the Pines happens because of faithful volunteers who invest their time, energy, and hearts into the lives of campers.
Our volunteers help create an environment where children and youth can open God's Word, build meaningful relationships, and grow in their faith.
Whether you are leading a Bible study, helping supervise campers, or serving behind the scenes, your presence helps make camp possible.
We are grateful for every volunteer who joins us in this ministry.
We have several ways volunteers can serve during camp.
Bible Study Leaders are hand-selected to lead small group discussions using the camp Bible study materials. Leaders guide campers as they open their Bibles, read Scripture together, and talk about what they are learning. Each group will have one lead Bible study leader and one co-leader. Our goal is for campers to actively read Scripture, ask questions, and participate in discussion.
Camp Counselors build friendships with campers, supervise all activities their assigned group participates in, and ensures campers feel welcomed and supported throughout the week. This is the most active volunteer role at camp. Counselors are present during an entire camp, i.e., the entirety of Kids Camp, Youth Camp, or both. responsibilities include: encouraging capers during activities, helping with transitions and schedules, supporting Bible study leaders, and modeling Christ-like behavior.
Activity & Support Volunteers are essential to keeping camp running smoothly. Some volunteers assist with games and outdoor activities, meal support, camp logistics, and setup and cleanup. This is our most flexible volunteer role.
Prayer Warriors. Our prayer meeting is open to all and will be held at Prospect Baptist Church on Wedneday, May 27 at 6p. No registration required. Prospect Baptist Church, 15 Main St, Hollow Rock, TN 38342

Volunteer training is mandatory for all volunteers. Virtual training dates are offered on Thursday, May 7 or Monday, May 11, both at 5:30p. Training covers volunteer expectations, safety protocols, and team alignment.
Bible Study leaders and co-leaders will participate in additional study alignment meeting before camp. During this meeting, we will: review the Bible study materials, discuss how to lead engaging discussions, coordinate groups, and align expectations for the camp. This preparation helps ensure every camper experiences thoughtful, meaningful Bible study time.

Camp is free for campers, but volunteers are asked to cover the cost of their camp t-shirt. The shirts helps campers and families identify camp staff and builds unity among the team. Shirts cost $25. There is no other cost to volunteer.
Meals are provided for volunteers during their designated service hours. Volunteers may select their service hours during registration.
